Elizabeth McQueen Meet Brothers Lazaroff

Elizabeth McQueen and Brothers Lazaroff want to make an EP together,
and they'd like you to be a part of it.
Elizabeth McQueen and Brothers Lazaroff have been playing music together for so long that we've become as close as family. Now, we'd like you to become part of that family. We'd like to invite you to join us as we embark on a new project. Laugh with us as we make mistakes.  See how the studio process works. Watch us as we make decisions not just about the music, but about the visual and video aspects of the project.  Explore with us as we navigate making music together while living 800 miles apart.
In 2008, Elizabeth put out "The Laziest Girl in Town." In January 2012, Brothers Lazaroff remixed two songs, just to see how it went.
    It went really well.

So well in fact that we want to finish the project. Our goal is to make a 5 song EP, although if we exceed our funding goal we'd love to do more songs.  The dollar amount we've put together covers the recording, mixing, and mastering costs for the project. It also covers the production costs for CD and Vinyl copies, as well as promotional costs for the project.
Though we call these remixes, they're actually more like reworkings of the songs.  We take the original tracks and build upon them, often rewriting and re-recording a large part of the instrumentation. It's a pretty involved process, but one that has produced work we're all incredibly proud of.  You can here the first two songs we recorded here:

    http://laziestremix.bandcamp.com

But we want more than just your help in paying for the costs of the project.  The seismic shifts of the digital age have changed the mandate for musicians. It's no longer about us creating in secret, and then releasing our work for the sole purpose of selling it.  Now we can involve anyone who wants to be in the creative process. We can give you insight into the collaboration involved in pre-production and the sometimes nerve wracking always rewarding recording process through video updates and blog posts. You can watch as we discover the depth and breath of how we want the record to sound and look.  We'll even let you know how we're navigating this Kickstarter campaign, which is new for all of us.  We get to communicate directly to you which means we get to create a community around a project, rather than just trying to generate a buzz.

Plus you get the music and, depending on what level you choose to pledge at, a customized  voicemail greeting and/or limited edition T-shirts and/or limited edition screen print posters. Maybe even a house concert!

It's exciting. And we can't wait to get started!

We hope you'll join us and hope you'll celebrate the fact that now we can do more with music than we ever could before.

    Let's make something together.

mo E trio- Groove Edition with Grover Stewart & Duane "Jingo" Williams

mo E trio represents the voice of pianist and bandleader Maurice "Mo" Egeston. Mo is currently known for his work as a leader of UG Project (with DJ Nune) and the Soul Alliance featuring CocoSoul as well as his work with Brothers Lazaroff.

The trio allows mo to return to his roots as a pianist since the dinner set will include soul-jazz, standards and downtempo grooves. But as the evening progresses the groove will shift and get a whole lot deeper.

Drummer Grover Stewart and percussionist Duane "Jingo" Williams join Mo and his rack of beat machines as they explore live drum n bass, jazz and Latin flavored house and more.

Grover is a breakbeat master and Jingo and Mo have been laying down live deep house grooves since the birth of UG Project in 2008.

This is the trio's second visit to the Delmar Lounge. The first time was a blast and the new menu is great.

Red Pill Recording Session with Brothers Lazaroff- Live Stream Archive

"Red Pill Recording Session with Brothers Lazaroff

    Brothers Lazaroff
Red Pill Studio is located in St. Louis, Missouri. The work ethic of Red Pill is founded on collaboration. Artist development is our core technology and philosophy at Red Pill."

Jeff and David recently went in and did vocals.  This is a look inside the first session where we did the rhythm tracks for 15 songs.  15 songs that the rhythm section was playing for the first time.

Scary for me since I've never done that.  But it was also truly liberating.  Had a blast working with Jacob for the first time in a true session.

Look for a release late in 2010 from Brothers Lazaroff.

    Introducing the Mo E Trio

mo E trio- a Journey in Sound Soul & Groove

From the start of his performing career in the mid 90s Maurice
“Mo” Egeston has made a mark in the St. Louis region as a leader of innovative and
popular bands. His early study of classical piano brought him to
graduate work at SIU-E. It was while completing his Master's that Mo
began exploring styles of music beyond the classical tradition.

Since then, all of his projects including Vargas Swing, the Soul Alliance featuring CocoSoul, Urban Jazz Naturals and mo & dawn have seen Mo combine his musical talent and formal
training with an ability to lead and run successful groups.

In 2010 Mo Egeston is returning to his roots as a pianist by fronting his own group- the
    mo E trio
The Trio combines influences from all the projects Mo currently performs in (UG Project, the Soul Alliance, and Brothers Lazaroff) with his own interest in soul, jazz and electronic
influences.  The resulting sound is a groove based experience
that seeks to redefine traditional expectations.

(Thanks to John Evans Jr. for much of the video and photography)

Drummer Grover Stewart and bassist Teddy Brookins join Mo on this journey. Styles referenced include soul, jazz, bossa, r & b, organic house grooves and drum and bass but no genre is considered off limits. Originals, jazz standards, pop music and neo-soul melodies will all be a part of the Mo E Trio sound.  A sound which easily slides from deep lounge ambiance to center stage funk grooves. At times guest artists will be part of the experience but the sound starts with Mo, Grover and Ted.

mo E trio-always diverse and improvisational with a definite focus on the tap of the toe and the nod of the head.
