Mo E's Music Updates. All-Stars Saturday. Soul Alliance with CocoSoul Sunday.

Greetings,

mo E All-Stars Breakbeat Throwdown is happening again this Saturday September 18.  This was a last minute addition but we're having so much fun developing this thing that we jumped at the chance.  I'll be joined by Grover Stewart on drums and Duane "Jingo" Williams on percussion.  Early we keep it chill with some head bobbing dinner grooves.  Later in the evening we will be playing some original ideas and arrangements in the styles of house, downtempo and drum and bass with influences of jazz, Latin and soul.  Check out this promo to hear a live clip from last weekend.  www.youtube.com/watch

We'll be there from 8- 11:30 PM with a DJ to follow.   Last time we had some folks up and dancing during the last set.  Good times indeed.

On Sunday September 19 its mo E's Lola Live! with Soul Alliance Trio featuring CocoSoul.  As you know from the last note we're all very proud of Coco for winning the St. Louis level of the Budweiser Superfest Battle for the Crown.  She's now competing nationally but the competition is all online.  So basically the contestant with the most computer savvy fans will win nationals.   Help Coco out by voting daily at www.battleforthecrown.com.  You are asked to verify your age since its an alcohol company and they also ask that you watch 2 videos before voting.  You do not have to watch the complete video.  Or even more than a couple of seconds....if you're in a hurry.

Sean Holland joins me for a set of Acid Jazz at 11 AM which will include a couple of mo E originals.  Coco takes the stage at noon for 2 sets of chilled out house, disco and soul.  This is an all ages event and Lola has expanded into a seriously cool place to hang, eat, drink and enjoy good live music.  We'd love to see you!

Vote for CocoSoul!

Greetings!

Look for an update about this weekend (Delmar) and next weeks (Lola) mo E All-Stars events later but I wanted to pass this note directly from my good friend and colleague Rochelle "CocoSoul" Walker.  Basically she would love to have your vote in the national Budweiser Battle for the the Crown Event.  She won the local St. Louis version a few weeks ago and got the opportunity to perform on the the Superfest Stage.

Now she is in the national competition.  You can vote daily at www.battleforthecrown.com.
They ask that you view at least 2 videos but you don't have to watch the entire thing if you're busy.  Just start it and close the video.  You will return to the voting page.

Coco joins me for brunch this Sunday at Lola from 11-2.  Read on for a note from Ms. Soul.

Hello everybody!

Because each of you know me by different names
This is Rochelle or COCO or Red(CRCP folks)

I'm sending this because I would love your support.

In August, I was in a contest Budwiser Battle For The Crown - and I WON!!! Yes, I am more than excited about that. Life had already been busy but now I truly believe that God is taking my career to the next level - and those of you who know me know that I've been singing/acting forever and ever.

Now this next phase is where I need YOU!

Starting Tomorrow Sept 13 through Sept 30th, I am in a National competition  (Budwiser held the contest in 13 cities).

Log on to
WWW.BATTLEFORTHECROWN.COM
Look for the St. Louis Video - COCO SOUL
And vote ONCE A DAY!!!

The person with the most votes will win the NATIONAL!
I would love to not only represent ST. Louis, but see what this next phase of my life will bring.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE like James Brown
Spread the word and have everyone you know VOTE!

I love you all and appreciate everyone for being in my life, great or small.

GOD BLESS YOU ALL and I know I couldn't do any of this with you!

LOVE,
ME (CocoSoul)

mo E All-Stars Tonight at the Delmar Lounge. BrothersLazaroff Sinner's Brunch Sunday

Greetings,

Tonight (9/10) the mo E All-Stars return to the Delmar as a trio.  Grover Stewart will bring his breakbeat artistry to the drums and Duane "Jingo" Williams adds his unique brand of funky percussion.  At 8 PM we'll do a set of Acid Jazz and chill grooves for dinner.  After that we'll take a tour of mostly original house, drum and bass, downtempo and electronica with flavors of jazz, Latin and soul.

We have a blast at these gigs and there is even room to get down if you're feeling it.  To add to the night we'll be wishing a special Happy Birthday to our man David Lazaroff (D Laz) who plans to stop by and hang for a bit as a part of his night of birthday shenanigans.

Mo Egeston's Music Updates. Hyatt and Lola this weekend.

 Greetings,

If you're in the STL this weekend join us downtown at the Hyatt at the Arch as Soul Alliance Trio featuring CocoSoul  takes the stage.  We'll be doing 3 sets of house, club classics, disco and soul from 9-12.  I'm posting two links to recent Soul Alliance performances below.  The first link is actually from April when the band took part in the James Brown Tribute for KDHX.  This lineup also includes Ramon White on bass and David Lazaroff on guitar. Soul Alliance as a four piece recently kicked it at Jammin at the Zoo.  There are a few clips up so I linked to one of Coco singing Golden.

Also this weekend make Sunday Funday with the mo E trio at Lola.  Grover and Ted will be joining me with a possible sit in from percussionist Jingo Williams.   That's this Sunday from 11-2.  The new expansion is really working to everyone's benefit with more space for dining, better places to eat and watch the musicians and even a dance floor.  The trio will be exploring acid-jazz,  Latin, swing and of course some house.  Join us won't you?

Other News
Last week mo E Trio had a special sit in by guitarist Matthew Van Doran.  Matthew, a recent transplant from Orange County, is settling in downtown St. Louis.   Stay tuned- he's a great player and really nice guy.

Mo E All-Stars made its Saturday night debut last weekend at Lola.  We had a blast and DJ Steve-O was a treat. Special thanks to David, Grover, Jingo, Chris "the Proprietor" Hanson and Steve for the tasty grooves.  We return with another installment of Celebrate the Groove Saturday September 25 at Lola.

Coming Soon
mo E All-Stars Breakbeat Throwdown featuring Grover and Jingo.  Delmar Lounge September 10. 8 PM

Brothers Lazaroff at mo E's Lola Live! September 12.  The new album tracks are sounding sweet!

(Oct 2 should be Oct 3 for mo E trio)
